Pet Memorial Day - Four Crossed the Rainbow Bridge this Week

Sadly on this year's Pet Memorial Day we say goodbye to four of our dogs within the space of a week. It always hard to lose a dog you care for, but so many crossing the rainbow bridge at once is a terrible weight to bear.

Cody came to us after a messy divorce, and died at seven years old of kidney failure. His carer, Lawrence described him as a 'true gentleman'.

Starsky joined us only a short time ago in April. He passed away die to an internal bleed.

Three years ago, on Christmas Eve, Eve was found emaciated and covered in her own filth and traumatised. We don't know exactly how old she was, but we think she was only five years old. A suspected brain tumour has taken her away.

Kidney failure caused Nancy's death. She was around eight years old - all to often we don't know the true age of the dogs we rescue :-(

Grieving the loss of a pet, or animal you care for hits all of us differently. Unfortunately this can seen by others as unusual, that the loss of an animal is a trivial occurrence not deserving of deep emotion. In our next members' newsletter 'Dogsbody', our Chairman Debbie Hill shares her experiences with grieving over the loss of her dogs over the year.
