We've reached Day 44 and are almost halfway through our 100 Days with 100 Dogs series, although we now have 117 dogs in our care and 30 of those are lifelong residents. Rescue is in crisis for everyone and we're no exception (in fact we're regularly receiving calls to take on because other rescues don't have space), and as with Bella and her pups taking them on put us over capacity, but again with these two, we couldn't abandon these young dogs to their fate.
Tom |
They share a strong bond and we've started separating them to prepare them. Tom is the more affectionate of the pair and is becoming very attached to his human carer. We feel he will have a strong bond with his adopter. However, this could cause a problem and present itself as over-attachment. He loves a fuss and cuddles.
They've missed the most important time for socialising but have shown no concerns when going out. We feel that separating these boys is in their best interest for their future. Tom is at the "mouthing" stage and so bad it's not appropriate to have him around very young children.
Jerry |
Tom and Jerry will need homes where their adopters are there most of the time. They can be very vocal at times, but house training is going great. They're a joy to be around.
They're currently located in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.
If you can offer Tom or Jerry a home for them to develop and be loved in then please get in touch - https://www.gsdwelfarefund.co.uk/adopting-a-german-shepherd/
